Amboseli National Park Kenya

Amboseli is among the top tier of Kenya's national parks, and it's not hard to understand why. Its main attraction is the sight of hundreds of large-tusked elephants against the backdrop of Africa's best views of Mt Kilimanjaro (19,341 feet). Africa's highest peak looms over the southern border of the park, and while cloud cover can hide the mountain's massive size for much of the day, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views when the weather clears, typically at dawn and/or dusk. Besides guaranteed elephant sightings, you'll also see wildebeest and zebras, and you have a fair chance of spotting lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. The park is also home to over 370 bird species, and it boasts a great selection of lodges and a pleasantly mild, dry climate.
