Combarro Spain

Combarro is a parish in the municipality of Poio, in the Galician province of Pontevedra, Spain. Until the beginning of the 20th century it was an independent municipality. The 1999 census recorded 1,567 inhabitants and the 2004 census, 1,668. It is a seafaring town, close to the provincial capital, Pontevedra (7 km), and to other well-known towns such as Sanxenxo. Its most notable feature is its old town, with a large number of traditional stone granaries (hórreos) and stone crosses (cruceiros), as well as the parish church. It has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest as a Historic Complex and Historic Site.
