Malacca is the third smallest state in Malaysia, following Perlis and Penang. It's situated in the southern part of the Malay Peninsula, adjacent to the Straits of Malacca and the Royal City of Muar. It shares borders with Negeri Sembilan to the north and Johor to the south. The capital city is Malacca City. Batu Pahat. The historical center of this city has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • Baba and Nyonya Peranakan Museum. • Cheng Hoon Teng Temple. This is the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia, featuring an inscription from 1685 that commemorates the achievements of Kapitan China Li Wei King. • Christ Church • Dutch Square. A beautiful square surrounding Christ Church and the Stadhuys. The Tang Beng Swee Clock Tower is also located in this square. • Jonker, Heeren, and adjacent streets. Located just west of the Malacca River, this area is the residential heart of Old Malacca, known for its narrow, winding streets, ornately decorated houses, small shops, temples, and mosques. • Malaysian Navy Museum. • Malay and Islamic World Museum. This museum also temporarily hosts a Museum of Torture on its ground floor.
